Abbeyfield Ripon is a not-for-profit charity for older people (Registered Charity Reg No: 501960), providing independent living. It is our mission to enhance the quality of life for residents through high quality accommodation in a stimulating environment to maintain a socially active life.
You gain more freedom to do what you enjoy.
We are close to Ripon’s shops, cafes and Spa Gardens for meeting up with friends and family.
We provide delicious home-cooked food every day for lunch and tea – no more racking your brains to think about what to prepare, our cooks do that for you. They welcome your new ideas.
Mealtimes are a social time, meeting and chatting with other residents and staff. Otherwise you choose how much time you want to spend in communal areas.
You have your own keys to come and go as you please.
You have the time and energy to spend doing things you choose to do without worrying about all of the everyday chores. We don’t clean your rooms or do your laundry for you so there is something left for you to do.
One thing that can worry prospective residents is the thought of downsizing. Rather than thinking of it as letting go of things it is helpful to concentrate on the things that really matter.
One wise resident always said “I have everything I need”.
“Security, friends, no cooking!”
“Friendly care, devoted staff, peace of mind”
“Wonderful, warm and welcoming”
Will I fit in?
You can come and see for yourself – All our residents have quickly settled in here, you bring your own treasured possessions so you soon feel at home.
Shared mealtimes mean that you get to know other residents quickly. All residents feel very fortunate to have found the security, peace of mind and friendship that our unique and welcoming house provides.
You remain independent and, because meals and maintenance issues are taken care of, have more energy to enjoy the company of friends and family.
